Analysts say this will enhance Dialog’s exposure in the upstream industry, Petronas Carigali will assist in knowledge sharing and smoothen the consortium’s learning curve and the two tier development phase will ensure the viability of the field which reduces execution risks.

KUCHING: Well connected marine engineering  Hock Seng Lee Bhd (HSL) has reported a strong performance for its first half of 2011.
HSL’s financial results for the six months to June 30, saw net profit before tax rising 22 per cent against the first half of 2010, from RM42.18 million to RM51.48 million.

OSK Research Sdn Bhd (OSK Research) noted that Bintulu Port’s chances of securing the concession were high given its reputation as a leading liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel operator and this could be a form of a compensation should there be a revision in LNG tariffs.

PetChem Q1 profit jumps 18% on higher revenue



PETALING JAYA: Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd (PetChem) reported 18.3% higher net profit year-on-year (y-o-y) to RM737mil for its first quarter (Q1) ended June 30, 2011, compared with RM623mil in the corresponding period last year, on higher revenue driven primarily by strong product prices.
For the quarter in review, the integrated petrochemical producer posted a revenue of RM3.3bil, which represented an increase of 6% y-o-y.

Petronas first quarter net profit surges 48.6%

KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Bhd's (Petronas) net profit jumped 48.6% to RM21.7bil for the first quarter ended June 30 from RM14.6bil a year ago, boosted by higher prices of its products and a gain of RM2.6bil from the divestment of Cairn India Ltd.
